The Whitefish Chain of lakes is located in the beautiful Brainerd Lakes Area in Northern Minnesota.  Fourteen magnificent lakes make up the Whitefish Chain:  Upper Whitefish, Lower Whitefish, Arrowhead, Bertha, Big Trout, Clamshell, Cross, Daggett, Hen, Island, Little Pine, Lower Hay, Pig and Rush.  On the Whitefish Chain you will find incredible Fishing, Scenery, Resorts, Lake Homes and Lake Property.

Lake Size:  7,370 Acres

Public Boat Access:  Located on East shore of Upper Whitefish off Co Hwy. 15

Lake Notes:   Specializing in Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass and Bluegill. Walleye, Crappie, Whitefish and Smallmouth Bass also caught.  Deep lake with a maximum depth of 140 ft.  In the summer, Walleye are most likely to be found on long mid-lake bars, sunken islands and deep weed edges.

Lake Size:  1,342 Acres

Public Boat Access:  1 on East shore of lake off Co. Rd. 66, 1 on North end off Co. Rd. 1

Lake Notes:  Part of the Whitefish chain of lakes.  Specializing in Lake Trout, Northern Pike and Largemouth Bass.  Walleye, Crappie, Bluegill and Smallmouth Bass also caught.  Very deep lake with a maximum depth of 129 ft.  After mid-summer, look in deeper areas for Crappie and Bluegill.

Cross Lake  whitefish chain     

Closest Town:  Crosslake

Lake Size:  1,751 Acres

Public Boat Access:  Located on East shore of lake off Co. Hwy. 3

Lake Notes:  Specializing in Northern Pike and Largemouth Bass.  Walleye, Crappie, Bluegill and Smallmouth Bass also caught.  Over 19.6 miles of beautiful shoreline.  Connects to Rush and Daggett Lakes.  Maximum depth of 85 ft.  Strong Fall Walleye bite in Cross Lake.

Lake Size:  891 Acres

Public Boat Access:  Travel through channel from Cross lake

Lake Notes:  Specializing in Northern Pike, Bluegill and Crappie.  Walleye, Large & Smallmouth Bass also caught.  Try the weed beds and shallower water for Northern Pike.  Over 11.6 miles of shoreline. Connects to Lower Whitefish, Hen and Cross Lake.  Maximum depth of 106 ft.

Lake Size:  308 Acres

Public Boat Access:  Through channel from Upper Whitefish Lake

Lake Notes:  Specializing in Northern Pike and Bluegill.  Largemouth Bass and Crappie also caught.  Connects to Upper Whitefish Lake.  Maximum depth of 14 ft.  Look for weed growth and woody cover for Largemouth Bass.

Lake Bertha whitefish chain

Closest Town:  Jenkins

Lake Size:  334 Acres

Lake Notes:  Specializing in Northern Pike and Bluegill.  Walleye, Rock Bass and Crappie also caught.  Look for Bluegill and Crappie in weedy bays and channels.  Over 3.7 miles of shoreline.  Connects to Clamshell Lake.  Maximum depth of 65 ft.

Lake Size:  189 Acres

Public Boat Access:  Located on North shore of lake off Co. Hwy. 16 and Ruttger Rd.

Lake Notes:  Specializing in Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass and Crappie.  Walleye, Smallmouth Bass and Crappie also caught.  Look for weed growth and woody cover for Largemouth Bass. Over 4.3 miles of shoreline.  Connects to Bertha and Lower Whitefish Lakes.  Maximum depth of 45 ft.

Lake Size:  225 Acres

Lake Notes:  Part of the Whitefish chain of lakes.  Specializing in Northern Pike and Bluegill.  Walleye, Crappie and Largemouth Bass also caught.  Look for Northern Pike in weed beds and shallower waters. Connects to Cross and Little Pine Lakes.  Maximum depth of 24 ft.

Hen Lake

Closest Town:  Crosslake

Lake Size:  151 Acres

Lake Notes:  Specializing in Northern Pike, Bluegill and Crappie.  Walleye, Large and Smallmouth Bass also caught.  Look for Bluegill and Crappie in weedy bays and channels.  Connects to Rush Lake.

Lake Size:  176 Acres

Lake Notes:  Specializing in Northern Pike and Bluegill.  Walleye, Rock Bass and Crappie also caught.  Try the weed beds and shallower waters for Northern Pike.  Connects to Lower Whitefish Lake.  Maximum depth of 77 ft.

Lake Size:  387 Acres

Public Boat Access:  Through channel from Daggett Lake

Lake Notes:  Specializing in Northern Pike, Bluegill and Crappie.  Walleye and Largemouth Bass also caught.  Weedy bays and channels are popular spots to look for Bluegill and Crappie in spring and summer. After mid-summer, look in deeper areas. Over 6.5 miles of shoreline.  Connects to Daggett Lake.  Maximum depth of 37 ft.

Public Boat Access:  Located on South end of lake off Co. Rd. 145

Lake Notes:  Specializing in Northern Pike, Bluegill and Largemouth Bass.  Walleye, Crappie and Smallmouth Bass also caught.  Look for weed growth and woody cover for Largemouth Bass. Very deep lake with a maximum depth of 106 ft.  Over 4 miles of shoreline.  Connects to Upper Whitefish Lake.

Lake Notes:  Specializing in Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass and Bluegill.  Walleye, Crappie and Rock Bass also caught.  Weedy bays and channels are popular spots for Northern Pike, Bluegill, and Crappie.  Connects to Lower Whitefish Lake.  Maximum depth of 57 ft.
